Responsibility.
Built into manufacturing.

All-electric production, intelligent lighting, material circularity and short supply routes: sustainability at KTH Yildiz covers the entire manufacturing process. Established measures are distinguished from goals still being developed.

Our four areas of action

Practical measures.
A connected process.

01 · Energy efficiency

Manufacturing uses all-electric injection moulding machines. Lighting, cooling and compressed air are also considered as contributors to energy use. Improvements are assessed as part of ongoing operations.

  • All-electric injection moulding machines in production
  • LED lighting with intelligent controls
  • Improvements to cooling and compressed air

02 · Materials & recyclates

Selected post-consumer recyclates are used for suitable products. A material transition is not a blanket decision: function, processability, dimensions, colour and approval requirements must match the application.

  • PCR grades for selected series products and new sampling projects
  • Considering REACH/RoHS requirements and material-specific documentation
  • Coordinating material selection, processing trials and technical approvals

03 · Zero waste & circularity

Suitable sprues and production scrap are returned to the process. Packaging materials such as cardboard and film are prepared for recycling. The zero-waste approach is a goal in development, not an already fully achieved condition.

  • Sprue and scrap recovery subject to material and component requirements
  • Cardboard pressing and film recycling through external recovery
  • Ongoing scrap reduction and avoidance of non-recoverable waste

04 · Supply chain & logistics

Regional suppliers and partners support short routes. Shipments and routes are consolidated or coordinated. Transport options are assessed against delivery requirements and resource use.

  • Local partners in the Hamburg metropolitan region
  • Shipment consolidation and route planning
  • Considering resource-conscious transport options in logistics planning
Material consulting & PCR

Recycled material is
an engineering decision.

Not every material suits every tool and application. Together we assess suitable PCR grades and evaluate the transition against your functional and colour requirements. Trials and collaboration with material partner CHG support the technical assessment.

FAQ

Sustainability in practice.

What practical sustainability measures does KTH Yildiz use?

Established measures include all-electric injection moulding, controlled LED lighting, cooling and compressed-air improvements, recovery of suitable production scrap, regional partners and consolidated shipments.

Do you use PCR recyclates in series production?

Yes, for selected suitable products. Each transition is assessed for function, processability, dimensions and colour. This does not imply suitability for every component.

What role do REACH and RoHS play?

Application-specific requirements inform material selection and transitions. Supplier documentation, material-specific evidence and necessary approvals are agreed for the project.

Is KTH Yildiz PRS certified?

Yes. PRS certification is part of our established sustainability profile. Contact us to discuss the measures and documentation you require.

Does zero waste mean there is no disposal?

No. The zero-waste approach is a goal in development. Suitable production scrap is recovered, while cardboard and film are prepared for external recycling. This is not a claim that production is completely waste-free.
